Normal People by Sally Rooney follows two people, Marianne and Connell, as they continue to find love with one another again and again over the span of many years.
It follows them out of highschool, through college and beyond. They change as people time and time again, but can’t seem to stay away from one another.
I absolutely adore this book. Their romance is a beautiful exploration of healing, and what true soulmates can look like. There is also a really interesting subplot about Marianne’s relationship with kink, and how it’s influenced heavily by her trauma.
